Oberkramer bags second win of the season in Ron Jenkins Memorial at Lucas Oil Speedway
On Saturday afternoon Mason Oberkramer made the short trip to Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) for the Lucas Oil Midwest LateModel Racing Association (MLRA) sanctioned Ron Jenkins Memorial. In a field of 27 cars, Oberkramer registered the third fastest time overall in qualifying before picking up a heat race victory. Earning the third-starting position for the feature, Mason slid ahead of race-long pacesetter Justin Duty on lap 28 and led the remaining 12 circuits to secure his second win of the season and first career MLRA victory. Finishing ahead of Duty, Chad Simpson, Payton Looney, and Aaron Marrant, Oberkramer pocketed $6,000. (Todd Boyd photo)
For the Scottie 46 on Sunday evening at Randolph County Raceway (Moberly, Mo.), Mason edged his way into the $5,000-to-win A-Main with a fifth place finish in his heat race. Passing nine cars in the 46-lap affair, Oberkramer marched forward to place sixth.
