Mason Oberkramer notches fourth-place finish at I-80 Speedway

Mason Oberkramer kicked off the action-packed week with the Lucas Oil Midwest LateModel Racing Association (MLRA) on Tuesday evening at I-80 Speedway (Greenwood, Neb.) for the Tuesday Tickler. Drawing 34 cars, Mason clocked in fastest in his group before picking up an eight-lap heat race victory. Earning the second-starting position for the A-Main, Oberkramer grabbed the lead on the opening circuit but relinquished the top spot a lap later to Billy Moyer. Hanging onto a Top-5 finish in the remaining distance, Mason scored a fourth-place spot, trailing Tony Jackson Jr., Chase Junghans, and Ashton Winger to the checkers with Moyer coming in fifth. On Wednesday evening at Stuart Speedway (Stuart, Iowa), Oberkramer came in second in his heat race behind Frank Heckenast Jr., which positioned him fifth on the starting grid for the $5,000-to-win A-Main. Losing three spots in the 40-lap affair, Mason recorded an eighth-place outing.

The following night at Davenport Speedway (Davenport, Iowa) on the quarter-mile oval, Mason posted a runner-up finish in his heat behind Tony Toste, locking him on the fourth row for the A-Main. With $5,000 on the line, Oberkramer faded back to a 16th-place outing.

On Friday night at 34 Raceway (West Burlington, Iowa) for the Prelude to the Slocum, Oberkramer followed up the second fastest time in his qualifying group behind Billy Moyer with a third-place finish in his heat. Pulling off with four laps remaining in the feature, Mason was credited with a 20th-place outing.

For the Slocum 50 finale on Saturday, Mason edged his way into the $10,555-to-win Slocum 50 with the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his heat race. Starting in 15th, Oberkramer dropped eight spots in the 50-lapper to place 23rd.
