Wild West Shootout continues at Vado Speedway Park
For the third round of the Wild West Shootout on Wednesday at Vado Speedway Park (Vado, NM), Mason’s fourth-place finish in his heat race lined him up 11th on the starting grid for the feature. On Friday evening after having an off day on Thursday, Oberkramer came in sixth in his heat before passing three cars in his B-Main to pick up the consolation victory. Wheeling his way into the Top-10 in the feature, Mason passed seven cars in the 30-lapper to place 10th.
The following night, Mason grabbed the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his heat, which positioned him 14th on the starting grid for the feature. Carrying a steady pace throughout, Oberkramer crossed the line in 14th.
To wrap up the 16th annual Wild West Shootout on Sunday, Oberkramer edged his way into the $25,000-to-win finale with a fourth-place finish in his heat. Starting in 14th, Mason advanced through the field seven spots to reel in a seventh-place finish.
