Fifth-place finish in Cotton Pickin' 100 opener at Magnolia

Mason Oberkramer returned to the driver’s seat of his Got Foam? No. 93 Late Model for the two-day Cotton Pickin’ 100 at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Miss.).

With 42 Late Models on the grounds for the unsanctioned weekend, Oberkramer captured the fast time honors in time trials with a 14.033-second lap before placing first in his heat. Earning the pole position for the A-Main, Mason dropped four spots in the 40-lap affair to register a fifth-place finish. He trailed Ashton Winger, Neil Baggett, Brian Rickman, and Payton Freeman to the checkers.

On Saturday, Mason edged his way into the $12,000-to-win Cotton Pickin’ 100 finale with the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his heat. Pulling off on lap 22, Oberkramer was credited with a 22nd-place outing.
